Hearing has been going on since morning in the Delhi High Court about lack of oxygen supply, beds and medicines in Delhi’s hospitals. Batra Hospital told the High Court today that there is a huge shortage of oxygen in them. Hospital officials said that we are in SOS from 6 am today. Today, 8 Kovid-19 patients died at Batra Hospital in Delhi due to lack of oxygen. After this, the High Court reprimanded the Central Government and said that enough is enough, now the water has gone above the head.

The High Court directed the Central Government to ensure that its 490 metric tonne oxygen supply allocated to Delhi should be received today under any circumstances. The High Court has listed the matter for further hearing on Monday.

The court said why Rajasthan did not give 4 cryogenic oxygen tankers to Delhi even after the Central order. Along with this, the court said that hospitals should set up oxygen plants, taking lessons from experiences related to the oxygen crisis encountered during the Corona epidemic. Describing oxygen plants as mandatory in hospitals, the High Court said that their absence is irresponsible.

The High Court says that there is a shortage of beds here. The court noted an official order on the revised discharge policy by DGHS. The court has directed all hospitals to give information about the number of patients admitted for more than 10 days and the number of people admitted and discharged daily.

The High Court directed the central government lawyer Amit Mahajan to talk to the central government officials on the supply of oxygen from Linde and others. Many hospitals have told the court that their supplier Linde is not providing air oxygen.

Suppliers are no longer picking up the phone

Dr. S.C.L., Medical Director of Batra Hospital, Delhi. Gupta said that 6 patients died in ICU ward and 2 corona infected patients in the main ward today due to lack of oxygen. We could not save them even after trying on our behalf. Ever since this wave of Kovid has come in the country, we have been demanding oxygen from the government.

Dr. Gupta said that our Executive Director is in constant touch with the concerned officials of the government and is updating them about our oxygen stock. Inox and Goyal – two oxygen suppliers supply oxygen to us, but none of them is picking up our phones anymore.
