Khattar government set up commission to investigate Karnal lathi charge, report will come in a month

Haryana government has constituted a commission to inquire into the case of lathi charge on farmers in Karnal. The responsibility of this one-member commission has been entrusted to retired Justice Somnath Agrawal of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He will investigate the situation arising out of lathi charge on farmers in Karnal on August 28. Apart from this, the role of SDM Ayush Sinha will also be investigated during the agitation. Ayush Sinha had come under attack in the case of lathi charge on farmers. Recently, farmers had gheraoed the mini secretariat in Karnal and also demanded action against them.

In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday, it was decided to constitute a commission to investigate the Karnal lathi charge case. This panel will investigate what were the circumstances, due to which the administration had ordered lathi-charge on the farmers. Apart from this, there will also be an investigation into the occurrence of violent situations. One month’s time has been given by the government to submit the inquiry report to the Justice Aggarwal Commission. It is believed that the Haryana government will be able to reduce the anger of the farmers to some extent due to the decision of the government to set up a commission of inquiry.

In Karnal on August 28, the protesting farmers wanted to go to the place where the BJP meeting was going on. CM Manohar Lal Khattar and state president OP Dhankhar were also present in this meeting. Then the police tried to stop the farmers and during this time the atmosphere turned violent. Ten farmers were injured in the lathi charge by the police. Apart from this, the state government has also approved the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme in the meeting chaired by the CM. Under this, those gardeners will be able to get relief, whose crops were destroyed due to bad weather.
