IRCTC started Shri Ramayana Yatra to promote religious tourism, first train will run from Safdarjung railway station today

The first train departure on the ‘Ramayana Circuit’ will start from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station today. This 17-day yatra will cover several prominent places associated with the life of Lord Rama, including Ayodhya, Sitamarhi and Chitrakoot. IRCTC said that this deluxe AC train offers two types of accommodation namely 1st AC and 2nd AC. It also has security features like CCTV cameras and security guards for each coach. The train also has 2 fine dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, coach shower room etc.

According to the information, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has planned a series of Shri Ramayana Yatra tours to promote religious tourism, which will gradually introduce domestic tourism by trains in view of the better situation of Kovid-19. Symbolizes a slow start again.

IRCTC in a statement said that it has planned train tour packages by understanding the requirement of budget and premium segment tourists using its Pilgrim Special Tourist Trains and Deluxe Tourist Trains. IRCTC said that the first train on the Ramayana circuit will start from Delhi on November 7 followed by four more trains in the next month.

Apart from this, other packages include 12 Nights/13 Days Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Madurai, which will run on 16th November. To meet the requirement of the pilgrimage tourism market of South India, IRCTC will operate Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Madurai with its budget class train with sleeper class coaches, the statement said. The train will start from Madurai with boarding points at Dindigul, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Chennai Central, Renigunta and Cuddapah. It will cover Hampi, Nashik, Chitrakoot, Allahabad, Varanasi and return to Madurai.

There is also a 16 night/17 day package of Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Sriganganagar and the train will leave on November 25, the statement said. At the same time, IRCTC is operating Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Sri Ganganagar with its pilgrimage special tourist trains for tourists from budget segment of North India.

The train has boarded and de-boarded at Abohar-Malout, Bathinda, Barnala, Patiala, Rajpura, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Delhi Cantt, Gurgaon, Rewari, Alwar, Jaipur, Agra Fort, Etawah and Kanpur, the statement said. With boarding point will start from Sri Ganganagar.

This train will cover Ayodhya, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi and Rameshwaram, Kanchipuran and return to Sri Ganganagar.
