The ongoing corona vaccination campaign in India recorded another record on Tuesday. Now the corona vaccination of one out of every four beneficiaries i.e. 24.8% people in India has been completed i.e. both doses have been taken. At the same time, 43.5% people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
India has achieved this position at a time when the active cases of corona in the country have come down to below 3 lakh after more than six months. According to the data till Tuesday evening, 87.62 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given to 64.25 crore people in India. Now India is the second country after China where maximum number of people have received a single dose of Kovid vaccine.
Of these, 23 crore 36 lakh people have been given both doses of the corona vaccine, while the remaining 44 crore 89 lakh people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. This means that 24.8% of the country’s population above 18 years of age has been vaccinated. This figure will cross 25 percent on Wednesday.
On the other hand, India’s seven major states still lag behind the national average in vaccination. Uttar Pradesh has the lowest average of both doses at 13.6 per cent, Bihar has completed 14.5 per cent immunizations and Jharkhand has 16.2 per cent adults received both doses.
In terms of vaccination, India has so far given 225 million doses in the month of September, while there are still two days left for the month to end. At the same time, in the month of August, a total of 18.35 crore doses were given in India, that is, 59 lakh doses were being given every day. This figure has increased to an average of 8 million per day in September.
