Independence Day: Khalistani supporters can enter the Red Fort in the guise of Delhi Police, high level meeting continues after intelligence alert


A high level meeting of Delhi Police officers is going on at the Police Headquarters on Friday before Independence Day in the capital Delhi. According to sources, the agenda of the meeting is the Independence Day security and the latest intelligence alerts shared by the agencies.

According to the latest alert, anti-social elements and people having ideological leanings towards Khalistani movement may try to infiltrate the security of Red Fort disguised as Delhi Police personnel. Along with this, efforts can be made to create law and order situation at religious places in Delhi.

Delhi Police’s (PRO) Chinmoy Biswal said that like every year, tight security arrangements have been made for August 15 in and around the Red Fort, on all borders and all over Delhi. Elaborate arrangements have been made by the police, security agencies so that anti-national, mischievous elements do not get any chance.

Amid tight security arrangements in Delhi, the Delhi Police has erected a massive wall of containers at the main gate of the Red Fort for security reasons ahead of the Independence Day. Officials said this is the first time that such a high wall has been erected by the police. These containers are placed in such a way that no one can see inside this complex of Mughal period. Significantly, this year, hundreds of protesters, demanding the repeal of agricultural laws, forcibly entered the Red Fort on Republic Day. He even put up a religious flag on the fort’s ramparts, from where the Prime Minister hoists the tricolor on Independence Day. There were also clashes between the protesters and the police during the farmers’ tractor parade. A total of 394 police personnel were injured in this violence, while 30 police vehicles were damaged.
