Sources in the Income Tax Department said that more than 25 officers are conducting raids at the Santhamarai Nilangarai residence, office and real estate firm in Tamil Nadu.

Central paramilitary forces personnel have also been deployed during the raid. Income tax officials also raided the locations of Stalin's son-in-law Sabarisan, the locations of Karthik Mohan, a member of the DMK's IT unit, and G-Square Bala.

Stalin criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making these raids, saying, "I have received reports of raids on my daughter's house in Chennai."

He said, "I am not afraid of it. This Stalin has seen Misa during the Emergency. They think they can scare me with raids, it can happen with the AIADMK but it cannot with the DMK. "

DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan said that the Income Tax Department is conducting a raid on Senthamarai's residence with political vendetta when the political parties are about to complete their election campaign and are preparing for the polling day. The DMK will not be intimidated by these raids.

Earlier on April 6, raids were conducted at the locations of Thiruvannamalai of DMK MLA EV Velu. Also, raids were conducted on his college campus. During these raids, Rs 3.5 crore was seized.
