A farmer has allegedly committed suicide in Chhatrapur district of Madhya Pradesh after being harassed due to outstanding electricity bills. In a suicide note addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the farmer said he would sell his organs and repay the power department.

Munendra Rajput, 35, hanged himself in the village of Mataguvan. According to family members, Munendra’s crop was in decline. Due to this he could not collect the electricity bill. Power department officials issued a notice asking them to pay the arrears of Rs 8,000. A few days later, Muninder’s flour mill and motorcycle were seized. Annoyed, the farmer went to the farm and committed suicide with a pendant from a hole.
