President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the nation on the eve of Independence Day. In his address, the President congratulated the entire country on the 75th Independence Day. He said that ‘Celebrating this anniversary, my heart is naturally filled with the vision of a strong, prosperous and peaceful India of 2047, the centenary year of independence.’ During his address, the President, referring to the Corona epidemic, said that ‘I wish that all our countrymen are free from the wrath of the Kovid epidemic and move forward on the path of happiness and prosperity.’ He said that although the intensity of the epidemic has reduced but the impact of the corona-virus is not over yet.

Referring to the new Parliament building under construction, the President said that it is a matter of great pride for all the countrymen that this temple of our democracy is going to be established in a new building in the near future. This building will be expressed by our customs and ethics. It will have a sense of respect for our heritage and at the same time it will be a demonstration of our ability to move in tandem with the contemporary world.

Our democracy is based on the parliamentary system, so Parliament is the temple of our democracy. The inauguration of this new building on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence will be considered as a historic starting point in the development journey of the world’s largest democracy. The President said that the Government has launched several schemes to make this special year memorable. ‘Gaganyaan Mission’ holds special importance in those missions.
