I will fast if the minister’s son is not arrested; Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Ultimatum on Lakhimpur Violence

Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been seen active since the Likhampur Kheri violence, on Thursday demanded that the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs will sit on a hunger strike if his son is not arrested. Let us inform that before this, the Punjab Congress convoy under the leadership of Sidhu has also left for Lakhimpur Kheri.

Earlier on Wednesday, Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also went to Lakhimpur Kheri and met the families of the deceased.

On his way to Lakhimpur from Mohali, Sidhu declared, “If the son of the Union Minister of State for Home is not arrested by tomorrow and he does not cooperate in the investigation, I will go on hunger strike tomorrow.”

It was announced on Wednesday itself that the Punjab Congress would march from Mohali to Lakhimpur Kheri under the leadership of Sidhu. Let us tell you that in the past, Sidhu has resigned from the post of Punjab Congress President due to non-acceptance of his interference in the Channi government. Earlier, Sidhu had also demanded the release of Priyanka Gandhi.

Sidhu, who had already demonstrated over the Lakhimpur violence, had given the Uttar Pradesh government time till Wednesday to accede to the demands. Priyanka Gandhi has been released from Sitapur guest house but Union Minister’s son Ashish Mishra has not been arrested yet. In such a situation, Sidhu has started the march from Mohali to Lakhimpur on Thursday.
