The Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992. The special CBI court gave its verdict on September 30, 2020 for the case, which lasted for 26 years. 31 accused have been acquitted. The special court ruled that the Babri Masjid was not demolished under any conspiracy, but was the result of some anti-social elements. The court further said that the allegations against the leaders were that they tried to save the mosque from being demolished. Haji Mehboob had filed a 500-page revision petition in the Lucknow Bench Registry of the High Court against the decision of this special court of the CBI.
