According to Friday’s bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain in Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 2-3 days. Apart from this, scattered rain is likely over rest of Northwest India.

The western end of the Monsoon Trough is close to its normal position and the eastern end is south of its normal position. The eastern end of the Monsoon Trough is very likely to move northwards towards the foothills of Himalayas during the next 24 hours. A Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over South Bihar and adjoining areas. It is very likely to move westwards during next 2 days.

Due to these meteorological conditions, there is a high probability of rain in some parts of Northwest India and Bihar between August 20 and 23. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain at different places in East Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It may rain in Uttarakhand on Friday. There is a possibility of scattered rain over West Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan by the end of this week.

The rain activity is very likely to increase over Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Heavy rain is very likely at isolated places over Gujarat region, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh on Friday and Saturday. At the same time, rain activity is likely to increase over West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India.
