Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtual inaugurate different projects for the historic Somnath temple in Gujarat on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of Parvati temple. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Somnath “Samudra Darshan Walk Path, Somnath Exhibition Center and the renovated Ahilyabai Holkar Temple through video conference”. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of Shri Parvati temple. Ahilyabai Holkar is known as Old Somnath Temple and is situated on the opposite side of the main temple.
Its renovation cost Rs 3.5 crore. About Rs 47 crore has been spent on the construction of about one kilometer long “Samudra Darshan footpath”. The Somnath Exhibition Center is situated near the Tourist Facilitation Center located in the premises of Somnath Temple. The damaged parts of the old Somnath temple have been put on display in this exhibition center.
Ahilyabai Holkar Temple has been completed for Rs 3.5 crore. It was built by Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore. Prime Minister Modi is the chairman of Somnath Temple Trust located in Prabhas Patan town of Gir-Somnath district. The inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony will be held on August 20 in the Ram Mandir auditorium of the temple complex. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also join through video conference. He is also the trustee of the trust. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other dignitaries will be present in the auditorium during this period.
