There is good news for those traveling on Mumbai local trains. The Ministry of Railways can reduce the fare of AC trains and increase the facilities. For this, the Railway Board has sent a proposal to the Ministry. The Railway Board said that this fare should be fixed on the basis of the fare of the metro train running in Mumbai. Along with this, emphasis should also be laid on increasing the facilities. Railway Board Chairman Sunit Sharma said that the ministry plans to convert local trains into AC local trains in future.

For those traveling in local trains, now it is going to be even cheaper to travel in AC trains. The Railway Board has proposed that the fare for single journey of AC local in Mumbai should be reduced. The Railway Board said that this fare should be fixed on the basis of the fare of the metro train running in Mumbai. Along with this, emphasis should also be laid on increasing the facilities.

Railway Board Chairman Sunit Sharma visited Central and Western Railway on Monday. He said that feedback has been received from the officials and passengers of zonal railways regarding AC local trains. Meanwhile, Sunit Sharma inaugurated and inspected the locomotive for Kalka-Shimla railway track at Parel. Sharma visited the lounge at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and the new restaurant at the station entrance.

Railway Board Chairman Sunit Sharma said, “We want to increase AC local trains as new trains are coming from both Central and Western Railway. So the fare of AC trains and the facilities available on the route are being studied. A decision will be taken in the same manner. Apart from this, the Railway Ministry plans to convert all local trains to AC local trains in future.
