Garbage free city, water will reach every house; PM Modi spoke on the beginning of the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission and AMRUT scheme


PM Narendra Modi has launched the second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission Urban and AMRUT scheme. Launching the second phase of these schemes at the Ambedkar International Center in Delhi, PM Narendra Modi said that our aim is to make every city garbage free. PM Modi said that lakhs of tonnes of garbage is collected every day in the country. Mountains of garbage have stood in the cities. He said that this waste would be processed and the garbage mountain around the cities would be completely eliminated. Apart from this, our aim is to ensure the availability of water at the place, PM Modi said. PM Modi said that the purpose of Swachh Bharat Mission and AMRUT scheme for urban development is that all cities should be litter free and there should be adequate availability of water. Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also present on the occasion.

On this occasion, PM Modi remembered Babasaheb Ambedkar and said that the next phase of Swachh Bharat Mission and Mission Amrit is also an important step towards fulfilling the dreams of Babasaheb. Babasaheb believed in urban development as a great means of removing inequality. Narendra Modi said, ‘We have to remember that cleanliness is the work of a day, a fortnight, a year or a few people, it is not like that. Cleanliness is a great campaign for everyone, every day, every fortnight, every year, generation after generation. Cleanliness is lifestyle, cleanliness is life mantra.

Drains will not fall in rivers, will do this work under Swachh Bharat Mission

PM Narendra Modi said that in the second phase, we will also work on sewage and safety management in cities. PM Modi said that we have to ensure that the dirty drains do not fall into the rivers. On this occasion, Hardeep Puri gave the credit of Swachh Bharat Mission to PM Narendra Modi and said that he had converted it into a mass movement. That is why such a great success has been achieved. Hardeep Puri said, ‘The Swachh Bharat Mission has not been successful because of the construction of lakhs of toilets and bringing down the waste processing to 70 percent. This happened because PM Narendra Modi gave this project the form of a mass movement.


To achieve the goal of sustainable development in 2030

The PMO said that both these flagship schemes are very important for the development of the country. Their importance has increased especially due to rapid urbanization. The central government has set the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. These two schemes will play an important role in achieving these.
