Police said Yogesh Chawan and Manisha Pawar of Indonesia had received information from the gangster that a woman from Bandra East was in the business of selling children. During the investigation, a woman named Rukhsar Sheikh was found who had recently sold a baby girl. After questioning him, it was found that Shah Jahan Jogilkar had sold his child to a family in Pune through Rupali Verma. Police first arrested Rukhsar, Shah Jahan and Rupali. Then one by one the doctors, nurses, technicians were also caught.
Doctors, nurses and technicians would talk to their patients and identify the needy and helpers and inform agents, police said. Agents would then settle the deal.
