Fast track Vande Bharat Express under construction, tender for 58 trains, 102 trains to run till March 2024

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement to run 75 Vande Bharat Express trains in different parts of the country in 75 weeks, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has put the construction plan of trains on the fast track. In this episode, the Railways has issued a tender for the construction of 58 new Vande Bharat Express trains on Saturday. Its last date is October 20.

Railway Ministry officials said that according to the plan, mission mode has been targeted to make a total of 102 Vande Bharat Express trains by March 2024. Tender was issued in the month of January for the construction of 44 trains. Whereas tenders were issued on the afternoon of August 28 for construction of 58 new Vande Bharat. 30 Vande Bharat trains will be made at ICF Chennai and 14 trains at MCF Rae Bareli and RCF at Kapurthala. The Railway Minister aims to complete the construction work of 102 Vande Bharat trains by March 2024.

Changes have been made in the tender documents so that the country’s first indigenously manufactured semi-high speed train Vande Bharat can be built faster. So that domestic companies will be able to participate in the tender process. With this, the dream of Make in India of the Modi government will also be fulfilled and the construction work of Vande Bharat will also be accelerated. The official said that from next year, the pace of construction of Vande Bharat train will be on the lines of bullet train.

Many changes in the new Vande Bharat trains

Many changes have been made in the new Vande Bharat trains. In this, the reclining seat has been equipped with pushback. Due to which the seat can be moved back and forth as per convenience. The train will have centralized coaches so that the entire train can be monitored from one place. Alternative arrangements have been made for ventilation and lighting in case of power outage. That is, ventilation will work for three hours. Each coach will now have four emergency windows. The AC of the entire train will be equipped with bacteria free system. Fire survival cables will be used on doors and windows so that they can be easily opened in case of fire.
