There are only three such states in the country where the Congress has a government on its own. However, there is not a single state out of these three where the Congress party is spared from infighting. The drama of Punjab is not ending and on the other hand, speculations are being made to change the leadership in Chhattisgarh-Rajasthan too. Although nothing is being said officially, the veteran leaders of both the states are camping in Delhi every day. Now Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singhdev has again reached Delhi on Monday. Bhupesh Baghel is the CM in the state but it is being said that TS Singhdev can be given the CM’s chair for the rest of the term.
According to sources, after coming to Delhi, TS Singhdev first came to visit Chhatarpur temple. Sources also said that TS Singhdeo will be in Delhi for a day or two during which he will meet some senior Congress leaders.
TS has reached Delhi at a time when Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has gone to meet Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra after the party working committee meeting on Saturday itself.
Speculation about a change of leadership in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh has been doing the rounds for the past several months. According to party sources, separate factions of Baghel and TS Singhdeo have formed in Chhattisgarh.
In June this year, after the completion of two and a half years of the Bhupesh Baghel government, the supporters of TS Singhdev started raising the demand to change the CM under the two-and-a-half-year formula. Congress had won the Chhattisgarh elections held in December 2018. At that time the then State Congress President Bhupesh Baghel was appointed as the Chief Minister.
