Even though the central government has given some relief from the inflation of petrol and diesel, but the price is still going to bother the people. Meanwhile, in the Modi government, Union Minister Raosaheb Danve has said that fuel prices are fixed in the US and it is wrong to blame the central government for the increase in their rates. The BJP leader said this at the inauguration program of the new party office in Aurangabad, Madhya Maharashtra. Party workers were present on this occasion.
He said that while the Center reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel earlier this month, most of the non-BJP ruled states did not cut VAT on them to give further relief to the customers. The Minister of State for Railways on Sunday night said that fuel prices in India keep fluctuating as they are related to crude oil rates in the international market.
He said, ‘Protest marches are being taken out in the country against the increase in fuel prices. But the price of fuel is related to the global (market) situation. One day it rises by 35 paise, the next day it falls by one rupee and then it rises by 50 paise.’
The minister said, ‘These prices are fixed in America. So it is wrong to hold the Center responsible for the increase in fuel price. The Center has cut its taxes (on petrol and diesel on the occasion of Diwali), but Congress and other opposition-ruled states are not ready to do so. The country is running with the funds of the central government. We need to tell this to the people.
