The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear a petition to immediately stop the work of the ongoing Central Vista project in the midst of the Corona crisis. The petition filed in the court said that in order to save the lives of the workers and others involved in the project amid the pandemic of Kovid-19, its construction work should be stopped.

A part of the Modi government’s ambitious Central Vista project is to be ready by December 2022. The project is being constructed to mark the completion of 75 years of independence. However, despite the lockdown in Delhi, its work continues and it has been kept under the purview of essential services. Opposition parties are also strongly opposing it.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has also targeted the government over the project amid Corona crisis. Priyanka has tweeted, “When the people of the country are struggling with lack of oxygen, vaccines, hospital beds, medicines, then it will be better if the government puts all the resources in the work of saving the lives of the people instead of building a new house of PM with 13000 crore . Such expenses send a message to the public that the priorities of the government are in some other direction.

Earlier, CPIM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury also tweeted that the continuation of the work of this project was absurd. He had said that our brothers and sisters are dying in hospital waiting for beds, no money for oxygen and vaccines, but Modi will waste public money to fulfill his ambition.

Let us know that it was known to everyone through the Hindustan Times that the work of a part of the Central Vista Project will be completed by December 2022. Under this, the Vice-Presidential Building and PM Housing will be built.
