Before the winter session of Parliament, Congress will run a nationwide public awareness campaign on the issue of inflation. Through this campaign starting from November 14, the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the party will try to reach as many people as possible and connect them with it. As part of the campaign, party workers will conduct Prabhat Pheri, padyatra and interact with the people.
Party’s organization in-charge KC Venugopal, senior leaders Digvijay Singh and Randeep Surjewala, while talking to the media at the Congress headquarters, said that 23 crore people have gone below the poverty line due to the anti-poor policies of the Modi government. The public is upset. Therefore, the party will make people aware of the issue of inflation by starting a public awareness campaign.
He said that a social media campaign would also be launched in this regard. The party will issue a toll free number. Any person can register himself by giving a missed call on it. People joining this campaign will also have the option of taking membership of the party. The program of this campaign was approved in the last meeting of the Congress Working Committee.
Difficult to handle budget for poor and middle class family
Senior party leader Digvijay Singh said that due to wrong policies of the government, poor and middle class families are finding it difficult to handle their budget. So, we have taken up the topic of inflation. Along with this other subjects will also be taken. He said that it is the effort of the party to involve more and more common people in this public awareness campaign.
Control rooms were set up in state Congress offices
Control rooms have been set up at the party headquarters and all state Congress offices for this fifteen-day long campaign. Jan Jagran Abhiyan will be monitored through these control rooms. Party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that all the leaders have been asked to undertake a padyatra of at least seven days in their respective areas during the campaign.
The party is also paying special attention to training
Along with this, the party is also paying special attention to training. For Jan Jagran Abhiyan also, one day training will be given for state level leaders in Wardha (Maharashtra) on 14th November. Thereafter, ten persons each from each Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituency and twenty persons from different regions will be trained. Apart from this, more training programs will be conducted.
