The Chinese-built village near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Arunachal Pradesh sector, mentioned in a recent Pentagon report, is in an area controlled by China. This was stated by the sources of the security establishment here on Tuesday.
The US Department of Defense’s annual report on military and security development states that China has built a large village in a disputed area in the Arunachal Pradesh sector.
“The village along the disputed border in Upper Subansiri district is under Chinese control. They have maintained an army post in the area over the years and various constructions by the Chinese took a long time,” the source said.
Sources said that the village has been built by China in an area which was occupied by it about six decades ago. “The village has been built by China in an area that was occupied by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in 1959 after the capture of the Assam Rifles post,” the source said.
The department also said that Chinese officials have warned US officials not to interfere in their relations with India. For the last one and a half years, talks are going on at the diplomatic and military level to tension the border, but China has been taking strategic action regarding its claims.
Let us inform that in June 2020, many soldiers from both sides were killed in a violent clash near the LAC. The Indian government had given information about the death of 20 soldiers, but China never gave any information clearly. However, China had announced posthumous awards for the four soldiers.
