Maharashtra Navnirman Sena i.e. MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s residence address has changed. Raj Thackeray has shifted to a new grand five-storey building in front of the iconic Shivaji Park ground on the occasion of Diwali. The new house named ‘Sivatirtha’ is a luxurious bungalow with state-of-the-art gymnasium, home theatre, modern library, deck as well as a luxurious hall.
The new house is located right next to his previous home ‘Krishna Kunj’, where Raj Thackeray has lived for more than two decades. Here Raj Thackeray will live with his wife Sharmila on the fourth floor while his son Amit will live in the third floor apartment with wife Mithali. On the ground floor is his party office, which has facilities for meetings and press conferences with party leaders. The first floor also has a spacious hall and a sumptuous dining area. Initially there was also a proposal to build a swimming pool in this building, but this was later abandoned.
A leader close to Raj Thackeray said that Rajsaheb (Raj Thackeray) got all the household work done by sitting with the architect. He has shown his interest in the material selection of the house as well as overseeing the entire work and designing the entire house. Raj Thackeray went to his new home on Saturday and the priests got the house entered. His son Amit unveiled the plaque in the name of the house. Its entrance is opposite the Shivaji Park ground, opposite Krishna Kunj.
Before Krishna Kunj, Raj Thackeray lived with his family in Kadam Haveli on Ranade Road. Kadam Haveli was the residence where Shiv Sena founder and Raj’s uncle Bal Thackeray lived with his brother and Raj’s father Shrikant Thackeray before relocating to Matoshree in Bandra. Bal Thackeray formed the Shiv Sena on June 19, 1966 in Kadam Haveli.
Initially, Krishna Kunj was about to buy famous singer Lata Mangeshkar, but later she shelved the idea. After this Raj Thackeray bought Krishna Kunj. Many eminent personalities like industrialist Ratan Tata, yoga guru Ramdev, filmmaker Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan have come to Krishna Kunj to meet Raj Thackeray.
