Mumbai Police has summoned CBI Director Subodh Jaiswal. This summon has been sent in a case related to a phone tapping and data leak case. A senior official said on Saturday that the Cyber Cell of Mumbai Police has summoned CBI Director and former Maharashtra DGP Subodh Kumar Jaiswal in connection with phone tapping and data leak.
In this summon, it has been asked by the Mumbai Police to appear on October 14 to record his statement. This case is from the time when IPS officer Rashmi Shukla was the head of the State Intelligence Department in Maharashtra. While in this post, Rashmi Shukla had made a report of hers which was leaked. It was said in this report that there has been corruption in the transfer of police personnel. At that time, the current director of CBI, Jaiswal was posted as DGP.
It is alleged that during this period the phones of many senior politicians and officials were illegally tapped. This report was leaked during the investigation. But the cyber cell has not named Rashmi Shukla in the FIR related to this. This summon has been sent to the CBI Director through e-mail. Let us inform that Subodh Jaiswal, a 1985 batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as the Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) this year. According to the rules, he will remain in this post for 2 years. Jaiswal has served in high positions in the Mumbai Police. He has also been the police chief of Maharashtra.
