Just before the assembly elections, the controversy over the expansion of BSF’s jurisdiction in Punjab is not taking its name to stop. Now Punjab Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has accused former CM Captain Amarinder Singh that the jurisdiction of BSF in Punjab has been increased only after the recent statement of Captain. Randhawa said that he will get the DGP investigated in this matter.
There is very little time left for the assembly elections in Punjab. From now on, the political temperature in Punjab has gone up a lot. Recently, there is a stir in Punjab on the instructions to increase the jurisdiction of BSF in Punjab. A few days ago, CM Charanjit Singh Channi had condemned the decision of the central government.
Now the Deputy CM of the state Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has dragged Captain Amarinder Singh into the matter. He says that the Captain raised the issue a few days ago that there is a threat of ISI in Punjab. After that BSF was deployed in Punjab. The Captain is supporting the decision of the Center on Punjab.
In a conversation with ANI, Sukhjinder Singh also referred to the interview given by Captain Amarinder Singh in 2016. Said that at that time the Captain had alleged a nexus between the BSF and the Pakistani Rangers. Now Captain Amarinder Singh is saying that Punjab is under threat from ISI. When he was the Chief Minister of Punjab, there was no threat to Punjab.
Randhawa said, a month after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post of Chief Minister, Punjab was under threat from ISI. Randhawa also said that even before Pakistan, drones have been coming. So the Captain first raised the issue and later deployed BSF in Punjab. We will get the matter probed by the DGP.
