Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has met Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Rajasthan amid meetings over Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s cabinet reshuffle and political appointments. After this meeting of Pilot, a reshuffle in the Gehlot cabinet is set soon. In this reshuffle, along with creating regional and ethnic balance, Pilot supporters can also get a place in the cabinet.
Sachin Pilot looked quite satisfied after meeting Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Talking to the media after the meeting, he said that Rajasthan, government, organization and political situation have been discussed. He has made his point. Pilot said the work of the committee formed by the party president a year ago has been completed. State in-charge Ajay Maken is giving his report.
Pilot said that the high command is taking action on what he had put forward a year ago and decisions will be taken soon. Responding to a question on the delay in the reshuffle, he said that the delay has definitely happened, the state in-charge will take a decision after talking to the Chief Minister. He said that there are 22 months left in the elections, he wants to fight the elections strongly and break the practice of changing the government every five years.
Earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met the party president. Gehlot had said that he has left the decision on the reshuffle to the party high command. Gehlot also had a meeting with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Ajay Maken. After these meetings, it is believed that Gehlot can make changes soon.
The party can implement one person one post formula in Rajasthan. With this, three ministers of the Gehlot government – Raghu Sharma, Harish Chaudhary and Dotasra – may have to resign from the post. Because, all three ministers are holding important positions in the organization. After these resignations, 12 seats in the cabinet will become vacant. In such a situation, Pilot can get about half a dozen of his supporters in the Gehlot cabinet.
