This is the reason why Rahul Gandhi also took Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi with him in Lakhimpur. At the Lucknow airport itself, he announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh each for the families of the deceased farmers. On the other hand, Punjab Congress has announced a march from Mohali to Lakhimpur under the leadership of Navjot Singh Sidhu.
