Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bangalore South, Tejashwi Surya, on Tuesday has made serious allegations against Yeddyurappa government of Karnataka amid Corona crisis. Surya has said that the administration is taking bribe to get beds in a hospital in Bengaluru. Surya, a 29-year-old MP, called it a ‘bribe for the bed scam’. According to Surya, officials of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP, Municipal Corporation of the city), outside agents and those in charge of war rooms and call centers are running the scam, where the beds have their information in the name of a patient with no symptoms. Is blocked without payment and is given to someone else after 12 hours of bribe. They have called it disgusting.
Tejashwi Surya alleged in a press conference in Bangalore on Tuesday, “There is a nexus between some BBMP officers in hospitals, some sanitary friends and some private agents from outside who are running it.” There have been at least 4,065 such cases in days. He said that no matter how many times a day you check the software of the hospital bed of BBMP, but despite the large number of discharges and deaths, any bed Chief Minister Yeddyurappa is the District Incharge Minister of Bengaluru himself.
The BJP MP has made these allegations when the situation is worsening in Bengaluru due to the corona virus. Several hundred or thousands of patients are finding it difficult to get beds every day. There are more than three lakh corona active patients in the city. Many people in Bengaluru and nearby places are dying till they go looking for their beds. Apart from this, there is also a shortage of many other essential medical things, including oxygen, Remedisvir.
After the cabinet meeting, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said, “He (Surya) has raised many questions about the availability of beds.” This is a huge scam, which was exposed by Surya. ”The CM further said that he has called Tejashwi Surya to discuss further about it. Due to the increasing cases in Karnataka, the Yeddyurappa government is constantly being questioned. The government is also being criticized because despite the warnings of the Technical Advisory Committee set up by the government in November last year, no major preparations were made for the second wave. Bengaluru has also been badly affected by Corona infection.
Earlier, two people died in Bengaluru and 24 in Chamarajanagar due to lack of oxygen. According to many people aware of the developments, allegations between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Yeddyurappa indicate widespread rift. Political experts say that the demand for the removal of Yeddyurappa will also increase as the local body poll and three assembly by-elections did not perform well. The BJP has won two of the three seats in the by-election. One of them is Belagavi, where the BJP could barely win by five thousand votes. Earlier this seat was won by nearly four lakh votes.
