BJP is seeing this advantage in PM Narendra Modi’s meeting with Pope Francis, Congress also silent

Even though questions are being raised about PM Narendra Modi’s meeting with Pope Francis in Vatican City, but the BJP’s special strategy is believed to be behind it. The party believes that it will benefit during the assembly elections in Manipur and Goa, which are Christian-dominated states. Even from the statement of Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, it seems that this was a well thought out strategy. Hosabale said about PM Modi’s meeting with the Pope that it was a meeting of a head of state with another head of state. However, questions were also being raised about this meeting because the BJP and the organizations affiliated to the Sangh have often been raising the issue of Christian conversion. Recently in Punjab also BJP raised the issue of converting Dalits to Christianity.

Punjab, including Goa, UP, Uttarakhand, is also included in the 5 states where elections are going to be held early next year. After 22 years, this was the meeting of a Pope with the Indian Head of State. Earlier in 1999, Pope John Paul II came to India and demanded Catholic rights. The BJP has also started talking in the election states regarding PM Modi’s meeting with the Pope. According to the Economic Times report, Mauvin Godinho, who is called the Catholic face of BJP in Goa, said that this meeting was historic for the country. This will end the misleading propaganda of the Congress, under which it has been calling the BJP communal.

He said that the party will also hold a meeting regarding this. Goa has more than 27 per cent Catholic vote. He said that BJP has done a lot of work for Catholic votes in Goa. He also cited the example of St. Xavier’s exhibition being set up by the BJP government in Goa in 2017. The BJP leader said that it was being told by the Congress that the state government would not allow this to happen, but it has been proved wrong. Let us tell you that even in the Christian community, BJP has made a hold in the last few years. Due to this, she came to power in Goa under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar.
