Bihar: Maoists hanged four

In Gaya, Maoists hanged four members of the family alleging that they were informers of the police. Years later, a case of convicting and killing people by setting up kangaroo courts like this by Maoists has come to the fore. The incident is from Dumaria area near Bihar-Jharkhand border. The deceased were sons and daughters-in-law of a person named Sarju Bhokta. The members of the CPI (Maoist) also blew up their house with a bomb blast after hanging the four. The Maoists also left a pamphlet there in which they blamed the family for being police informers and betraying the Maoists. Warning of Maoists Media reports are being told that this incident is related to the killing of four Maoists in an encounter with the police in the same area a few months ago. The Maoists have alleged that their accomplices were not killed in the encounter but were poisoned by members of the same family. He wrote in the pamphlet that therefore the sons and daughters-in-law of Sarju Bhokta have been punished. Bhokta himself was not present at home at that time.

The Maoists in the pamphlet also warned the rest of the people of the area that if anyone else helped the police against them, they would face the same fate. Police is currently investigating the incident and no one has been arrested so far. Maoist activities have been taking place in this area for a long time, but in this way the incident of killing people by setting up Kangaroo Court has come to the fore after many years. Violence during elections Police told reporters that Gaya SSP Aditya Kumar has camped at the spot and is supervising the proceedings to nab the culprits. Panchayat elections are currently going on in Bihar and elections are to be held in this area also on November 24. In view of this, the police chiefs of other districts of Bihar bordering Jharkhand have also been asked to be alert and conduct search operations. CPI (Maoist) is a banned organization under UAPA. It was born in September 2004 after the merger of former Maoist organizations named CPI (ML), PWG and MCC. It was declared a banned organization in 2009.
