In Bihar, the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital, Bihta, will re-start the treatment of corona infected patients. In view of the ever increasing corona infected patients in Bihar, the Health Department has requested the Central Government to restart the treatment facility of the state’s corona infected in this hospital. Official sources in the health department said that the central government has agreed to the proposal of the health department. Soon, the Corona infectives will begin treatment at this large hospital in Bihta.

Kovid Hospital will be of 500 beds

ESI Hospital, Bihta will be a 500-bed Kovid Hospital. The hospital was started in August 2020, after the number of infected during the Corona period was declared as Kovid Hospital. During that time, treatment of severely infected patients of Patna and surrounding districts was possible. This hospital has the facility of doctors and health workers for treatment including state-of-the-art ICUs.

Beds increased in AIIMS, Patna

Sources said that 10 beds have been increased in Kovid ward in AIIMS, Patna and 10 beds in ICU. The Health Department had requested the administration of AIIMS, Patna to increase the number of beds. Most infected patients are admitted for treatment in AIIMS, Patna.

All medical college hospitals were alerted

The Health Department has directed all government and private medical college hospitals in the state to be vigilant and keep full preparation in view of the increasing number of corona infected patients. At present, 100- 100 beds have been arranged in the Kovid ward in all the medical college hospitals.

Principal Secretary of Health Department, Pratyam Amrit said that the system of treatment of Corona patients will soon start in the ESI Hospital at Bihta. Apart from this, beds have also been kept safe in medical college hospitals.
