The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set three targets for expansion in election states and areas with weak organizational structures. The party has set a target to constitute booth committees at all 104,000 polling stations across the country by December 25. By April 6, 2022, Panna Pramukhs will be appointed in all the states and by May 2022, the telecast of PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program will be ensured in all the polling booths of the country.
While the BJP has started the process of choosing the head of each page, on the other hand the Congress has not been able to choose a permanent president since 2019 and has postponed the organization elections till September-October next year. Before the Congress will elect a party president, the BJP will have achieved a crucial milestone for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by appointing lakhs of Panna Pramukhs.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Sunday that these goals have been set in the national executive meeting of the party in the capital Delhi. “The party did an experiment in Gujarat, where apart from the booth committee, the page committee was also formed. By December 25, all booth committees will be ready, so far 85 percent have been formed. Now our target is to appoint Panna Pramukhs at all polling stations.
The senior BJP leader said his party relies on these organizational units to enhance people-to-people contact and increase prospects for the election campaign. The monthly radio program of PM Modi is an attempt to take PM Modi’s messages to the public through institutional broadcasting at all booths. Pradhan said, “PM Modi talks directly to the people through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and arrangements will be made at all booths by May 2022.”
He said that party president JP Nadda reiterated former president Amit Shah’s point that the best of BJP is yet to come. Pradhan said, “In 2014, Shah had set new targets. Many of which have been achieved, such as victories in Assam, Tripura and several states in the Northeast. Nadda said that peak is yet to come.
