Basavaraj Bomma reached Delhi to seek blessings after becoming Chief Minister


New Delhi (LokSatya). Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomma will discuss the formation of his cabinet with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda.

After becoming the Chief Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Nadda reached New Delhi on Friday to seek blessings and express their gratitude. Bommai told reporters here that he is likely to meet Nadda this evening.

When asked whether the formation of the ministry to deal with the COVID and flood situation in Karnataka is the topmost priority, he said, "Yes, of course it is the most important priority."


With regard to several candidates aspiring for ministerial post, the Chief Minister said that it was natural for the leaders of the national party to compete for ministerial posts. He said, “Look, we have a national party which is led by big leaders. Therefore, it is natural for many people to aspire for the post of minister. The party has the ability to adapt to these circumstances and the matter will be settled easily.”

Bommai said he would also meet Union Water Resources Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Saturday in light of the war between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over the Mekedatu reservoir project. He said that he is determined to implement the Mekedatu project to meet the drinking water needs of Bengaluru city and has sought permission from the central government for the same.

On the situation of Kovid in Karnataka, Bommai said that after returning from Delhi, he will discuss through video conference with the Deputy Commissioners of Border Areas of Kerala and the Superintendent of Police.
