New Delhi (Loksatya). Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane left for Bangladesh on Thursday on a five-day visit. This visit of General Narwane is being considered very important amidst the Golden Victory Year celebrations being celebrated on the occasion of completing 50 years of victory in the 1971 war on Pakistan.
General Narwane Shikha will pay tribute to the martyrs of the freedom struggle by going to Anirban. After this, he will separately meet the heads of the three forces of Bangladesh. He will also visit the memorial of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib ur Rehman and pay tribute to him.
On Sunday, he will meet with the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh in Dhaka and deliver a lecture at a seminar related to the United Nations peacekeeping campaign. He will speak with UN forces commanders in Mali and South Sudan on Monday. He will also attend the closing ceremony of a multinational military exercise organized under the UN Anti-Terrorism Scope. Army of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka are participating in this exercise. Apart from this, it also includes observers from USA, UK, Turkey and Saudi Arabia and some other countries.
This visit of General Narwane will deepen bilateral relations between the armies of the two countries and strengthen their coordination and cooperation on various topics of strategic importance.
