Amit Shah conceives of getting full majority in Goa, how will BJP deal with the challenge of Congress, AAP and TMC?

Goa is also included in the 5 states in which assembly elections are to be held next year. On Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had brainstormed on these elections in its war room in Delhi regarding the upcoming assembly elections. The meeting was presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Now Amit Shah, who reached Goa on Thursday, has expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will be able to bring an absolute majority in Goa. At present, there is a BJP government in Goa and Amit Shah has expressed confidence that the BJP will return to the state next year.

Amit Shah said that the double engine government of Goa and BJP at the Center will help in the development of the state. The Union Minister said this while laying the foundation stone of National Forensic Sciences University in Dharbondra village of South Goa. He also said here that from November 15, chartered flights for tourism will start coming to the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, ‘BJP will form government with full majority in Goa. However, there is still time for the election. But I would like to appeal to the people of Goa to prepare mentally that they have to choose Narendra Modi-led BJP at the Center as the new government of the state.

Amit Shah further said that this double engine government will further develop the state. This time in Goa, many parties will enter the electoral riot. Apart from the opposition Congress, Mamata Banerjee-led TMC, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party and Shiv Sena have also decided to field their candidates in 40 seats.

Let us inform that in the assembly elections held here in the year 2017, Congress had won 17 seats and emerged as the party with the highest number of seats in the state. Whereas BJP got 13 seats. But the BJP formed its government by joining hands with some regional parties here. Amit Shah has praised the Pramod Sawant-led government in Goa and said that this government has done an excellent job by giving the first dose of vaccination to all the deserving people to fight against Kovid-19. He has appealed to them that the work of second dose of vaccine should also be completed soon in the state.

Will TMC spoil the game?

Although BJP leaders are boasting about bringing an absolute majority in Goa, but it is not so easy for them here. Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC, which spoiled the game of BJP in West Bengal, is also trying to strengthen itself in Goa. Apart from expanding the party in the state, Mamta’s party has shown its threat there by including former CM Luizinho Faleiro in the TMC. It is also being said that Mamta Banerjee herself will also go for Goa’s election campaign.

AAP’s populist promises

Apart from TMC, the Aam Aadmi Party is also eager to strike the election rhythm with full enthusiasm. The party had been trying to strengthen itself here for a long time. On coming to power, Kejriwal has already raised the political temperature of Goa by making many promises including giving 80 percent jobs in the private sector to the local people, free electricity and water.

Congress is ready

Despite getting a majority last time, the Congress had failed to form the government in the state. The party has given the responsibility of doing miracles in Goa to its respected leader P Chidambaram. The party has learned from its past mistakes, perhaps this time after the election, the legislature party will not make the mistake of electing the leader and its decision will be taken before the elections.
