After the resignation of Amarinder Singh, the tug of war is still going on in the Congress over the next Captain of Punjab. The party high command wanted senior leader Ambika Soni to be the next CM but Ambika herself refused it. Now Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has targeted the Congress uproar and said that fearing the growing popularity of Amarinder Singh, Congress has removed him from the post of CM.
Union Minister Joshi said, ‘Captain Amarinder Singh is a popular leader. He was removed because the party felt that Amarinder Singh was becoming more popular than Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Those who themselves are in so much trouble, they are questioning us. There is no use answering them.

‘Next CM’s decision will be taken in 2-3 hours’
Congress Legislature Party meeting in Punjab has been postponed for the time being. However, now party MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has said that within the next 2 to 3 hours a decision will be taken on the name of the new Chief Minister of Punjab.
Ambika Soni refused to become CM
Congress MP Ambika Soni has turned down the offer of the party high command to become the Chief Minister of Punjab. Soni reportedly said that she does not want to be the chief minister at this point of time and that only a Sikh should be made the chief minister in Punjab.
