After the major reshuffle in Punjab Congress, now perhaps the focus of the party high command is on Rajasthan. For the past three years, swords have been drawn between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot here. Sachin Pilot has often been demanding a place in the cabinet for his close ones. So far, Ashok Gehlot has been postponing the cabinet reshuffle, but now it seems that he will have to bow down to the intervention of the high command. Ashok Gehlot, who arrived in Delhi on Thursday to meet party president Sonia Gandhi, himself has indicated this.
Talking to the media, Ashok Gehlot said, ‘A decision will be taken by the party high command regarding the reshuffle in the cabinet. Ajay Maken is fully aware of this. We want that the government should run well in the state and the people should get good governance. Earlier on Wednesday night, Ashok Gehlot had a long meeting with Priyanka Gandhi at Rahul Gandhi’s Tughlaq Lane residence. During this also senior leaders like KC Venugopal and Ajay Maken were present. The same was being said about this meeting that Priyanka Gandhi has called Ashok Gehlot to find a formula for reconciliation in Rajasthan.
Ashok Gehlot said that I have given complete information to the party high command about the current situation in the state. Let us tell you that Sachin Pilot has tried many times. Sachin Pilot’s statement also surfaced on Wednesday, in which he said that those workers who have worked hard to bring him should be given a place in the government. Now only two years are left for the state elections. In such a situation, it is believed that the Congress can find a way of reconciliation to end factionalism and internal discord.

The ball was again thrown in the court of the Center regarding the reduction in the rate of petrol and diesel.
Meanwhile, Ashok Gehlot has also announced reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel. On Tuesday evening, Gehlot had talked about reduction in VAT, but so far he has not said that from when and how much this reduction will be done. Once again targeting the central government in this regard, Gehlot said, ‘The prices of petrol and diesel are increasing. The center should support the states. We demand the Center to further reduce the prices of petrol and diesel. If there is a cut from the Centre, then the prices will be lower in the states also.
