After Punjab, West Bengal is also getting angry after the Modi government at the Center increased the scope of BSF. In West Bengal, a resolution has been tabled in the Assembly against the Centre’s decision to increase the BSF’s jurisdiction from 15 km to 50 km. TMC leader and minister in Mamata government Partha Chatterjee moved a resolution against the issue. Not only this, West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee has allowed a 1.5-hour long discussion on the issue of increasing the jurisdiction of BSF in the state.

Earlier, CM Mamata Banerjee had written a letter to PM Narendra Modi and expressed his displeasure against the Centre’s decision to increase the BSF’s jurisdiction from 15 km to 50 km in West Bengal. TMC MP Saugata Roy had said that CM Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi against this decision of the central government and the government will bring a resolution against this decision in the assembly.

The Central Government has increased the jurisdiction of BSF (Border Security Force) from 15 km to 50 km in several border states including Punjab and West Bengal. However, TMC says that this move of the central government is interference in the jurisdiction of the state. Let us inform that in Punjab too, the Charanjit Singh Channi government has raised objections to the Center several times regarding the BSF jurisdiction. CM Charanjit Singh Channi has also requested Home Minister Amit Shah on several occasions to withdraw his order.
