Singh said many families from the Kanjar tribe live in temporary tents at the state border under their thana area.

He said these tribes often feared that the locals were involved in various crimes in the area. He said the reason behind the mass abduction was the theft of a motorcycle belonging to a person from Kalsia village in the neighboring Ratlam district.
