The fire broke out late at night at Bhandar District Hospital in Maharashtra. The traumatic death of 10 newborns is said to have been caused by a fire caused by a short circuit in the hospital. According to media reports, Dr. Promod Khandet, Civil Surgeon of the District Hospital, while talking to reporters, said that 1 newborn has been placed in the children’s ward. Late at night a nurse saw smoke coming out of this ward.
Immediate nurses and hospital staff rushed to the ward to find that 10 newborns had died. A total of 1 child was kept in the Sick Neonatal Care Unit (SNCU) ward of the district hospital. The condition of the children in this ward is critical.
The on-duty nurse opened the door after seeing the smoker in the ward of the sick neonatal care unit (SNCU) of the district hospital and immediately informed the hospital authorities. After which the fire brigade reached the spot and started the rescue operation with the help of the people of the hospital, where seven children were rescued. Union Home Minister Amit Shah Bhandar has expressed grief over the incident at the district hospital. He tweeted that I was out of words. My thoughts and condolences to the bereaved family.
