Job Overview TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems. What your background should look like: ROLE OBJECTIVE Support to EMEA PE team Sensor Engg. Design & Development activities RESPONSIBILITIES Review & Support EMEA team for 1) Design and Development of Sensors: Responsible for sensor development process in the area of position and speed sensors based on sensing technologies, such as Hall-Effect, PLCD, Inductive and Magneto-Resistive measuring principles Prepare design concepts, details drawing, product specifications and anchor project till PPAP release. Carry out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, Proposal /detail drawings for costing / production, Initiating simulation (eg Structural & thermal). Participate in Design/FMEA review with affiliates Carrying out design change requests in a timely manner Preparing and presenting design reviews per manufacturability, update design per suggestion and keep record. Choosing standard parts, features, material as per internal guidelines which would meet the internal / customer target process and cost. 2) Engineering Sustaining activities: Prepare, update & review product + customer drawings and 3D Model. Review inspection report and make judgment on deviated dimensions. Co-ordinate Testing & part validation Knowledge of Product Development Cycle and Processes. 3) Drive for continuous improvements Review VAVE for design requests by product/process/mold optimization. Compile product related documentation Ensure application of design rules and lessons learned in new concepts Proven Ability to transform Voice of Customer into Technical Specifications. EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering 3~5 experience in automotive Industry having good knowledge in Design and development Exposure to various manufacturing processes (including Injection molding, stamping, plating, die-casting, component assembly etc.) is preferred Experience with Sensors type (Mechatronics products) preferred, Additional know-how on signal integrity and protection methods preferred. CRITICAL EXPERIENCE 3 ~ 5 years of experience in Design and Development of products preferably in Sensor Industry Sensors / automotive electro-mechanical devices testing and validation process desired Knowledge on Automotive quality process (FMEA, APQP) and testing procedures GPS / GD&T application and good interpretation of engineering drawings, Tolerance stack up analysis Good Knowledge in Creo software & PDM windchill. Ability to work within a multicultural and multifunctional team Good knowledge in Product Life Cycle management tool software Demonstrated Experience of working in a fast paced and changing environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
